While low moisture cleaning can be effective in certain circumstances, let’s talk about the realities of "Dry Cleaning":
First, it isn't really dry. It is called "Encapsulation cleaning" and is done with a small amount of water and a cleaning agent. The cleaning agent is sprayed onto the carpet and given time to work. Then a floor buffer with a scrubbing bonnet is used to scrub the floor and removed the spots. The soil in the carpet is absorbed by the bonnet or it is encapsulated and left to dry. It will be removed the next time a normal vacuum is used on the carpet. This process can clean several hundred square feet of carpet using only two gallons of water.
Second, this process is great for Berber carpet or commercial grade carpet. The process is simpler than steam cleaning, thereby making it cheaper for you. However, it usually requires more frequent cleaning than steam cleaning and it is not very effective on standard residential carpet. Steam cleaning is the best method for standard residential carpet, but Low Moisture cleaning (or Dry Cleaning/Encapsulation cleaning) works well on carpet that you might find in hotels, libraries, or other commercial buildings. There are times when a client insist on low moisture in a residential setting because they have been "soaked" in the past by other "steam" cleaners that simple did not perform their jobs well. We understand and if that is you, we can help.
